Council chief 'horrified' by potentially savage cuts thumbnailAnne Donaghy, Chief Executive of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.

CHIEF Executive of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Anne Donaghy, has spoken of her "horror" at potential cuts to services which could affect ratepayers throughout the Borough.
The Council Chief has warned that from next year there could be no filling of potholes, no grass cutting in relation to roads, no gully emptying, no street lighting and no funding to provide winter gritting services.
Ms Donaghy was referring to "stark proposals" set out in the Department of Finance's Budgetary Outlook paper.
Mrs Donaghy highlighted the proposals at  a recent council meeting in order  to "give a feel for what we are facing in relation to the impact it will have on the daily life of the people that we serve".
