BALLYMENA Academy pupil, Katie McKillen was barrister of the Competition in the recent Bar Mock Trial in Londonderry.
As the Guardian reported last week, the Academy team won the competition and Katie took the individual title.
Pupils took on the role of barristers and witnesses and presented their case against teams from other schools in a real courtroom.
Academy competed against Thornhill College, Foyle College and Cookstown High.
Each performance was judged by senior lawyers.
This was Academy's first year competing - but the school came away with all the accolades!
The team received support and assistance from former pupil, Emma McIlveen, who is a barrister and the teacher in charge of the event was Mrs. Matchett.
The team has qualified to fight it out in a prestigious National final in March in Cardiff.
On behalf of the team, Shona Nelson and Katie McKillen, who were the Barristers in the final against Cookstown High School, presented the Shield to the school.
The others received certificates of achievement.
They were - Jessica Gregg (Best Witness), James Brown, Sarah Logan, Susanna Crabbe, Molly Reid, Lucy McCormill, Kerri Gregg, Megan Kernohan, Harry Fleming, Karen Maxwell, Erin McKay, Sarah McNabney, Martin Doherty and Chloe McGall.
