A Ballymena milkman, who retired earlier this month was "overwhelmed" by the number of cards and messages of thanks he received after his story appeared in the Guardian.
Robert Ross of Townhill Road had been delivering milk in the Cullybackey and Portglenone areas for almost 50 years.
He retired on December 2 leaving only one milkman left in the Ballymena area.
Robert first became a milkman's helper as soon as he left Buick Primary School and later took over the Cullybackey route, which 20 years ago grew to include Portglenone.
At his busiest Robert was delivering milk to over 500 customers in the Cullybackey and Portglenone areas.
After the Guardian story was published, news of his retirement spread far and wide and Robert received over 200 cards from customers wishing him well.
