JULIAN Kennedy continues to leave the rowing opposition in his wake!
The Ballymena man won several titles in recent Championship events.
In the Scottish Indoor Championships in Motherwell Julian won the Men's Over-60 1,000 metres event in 3 minutes 37 seconds, and the 500 metres in 1 minute 34.9 seconds.
He followed this up by winning the Irish Provincial Rowing event in Limerick, taking the title in the Men's Over 60s 1,000 metres in a time of 3 minutes 35 seconds, and the 500 metres in 1 minute 35.1 seconds.
Julian, a member of Ballymena Runners Club, trains at Seven Towers Leisure Centre.
“I train on their rowing machines, and thank Kenny and Claire for their encouragement," said Julian.
For Julian the Irish Provincials was his last competitions for a while.
He recently underwent surgery on his right leg to realign a worn knee joint!
But it won't be long before he is back in competition business.
