Norman celebrates his magnificent seven degrees! thumbnailNorman Wilson who recentlly graduated from Durham University with a Doctor of Philosophy degree for his thesis on the interpretation of the Book of Ecclesiastes.

FORMER Ballymena Academy teacher, Norman S. Wilson, who left school at the age of 14 without a single qualification to his name, has reached a notable milestone in his academic career.
At the summer graduation the historic Durham Cathedral, Durham University Norman received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy for his thesis on the interpretation of the Book of Ecclesiastes which he hopes to have published.
Norman, now BA, BD, MA(Ed), M.Litt, LLB, BCL (Oxon), who has already reached 'the three score years and ten' milestone, said when he left school he was gainfully employed in various jobs.
“But 14 years passed before I gained entrance to Queen's University, where I studied Modern History and Political Science," he told the Guardian.
