AROUND 500 people packed into the Tullyglass House Hotel last week for Ballymena's annual business excellence awards.
The event on Thursday night showcased the town's vibrant business community and the audience included representatives from a large number of companies and public sector organisations.
A total of 21awards were handed out in various categories, covering the full range of business activities, ranging from customer service and innovation to social enteprise and exporting excellence.
Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, were the principal sponsors of the awards which were organised by the Borough's Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Welcoming guests, mayor, councillor Paul Reid, said the event highlighted the commitment to excellence demonstrated by many of our businesses within the Ballymena area.
He said: "Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is proud to be the principal sponsor of the Ballymena Business Awards, as a Council we are fully committed to creating the environment that commerce can operate in.
“We recognise the significant benefits commerce bring you all, to an area, and as a Council, we are committed to in working in partnership with local businesses to grow our local economy and bring mutual benefits to our Borough.
“Council are taking a very proactive approach to our local economy. I am delighted that our Chief Executive, Anne Donaghy is also with us this evening.
“She leads from the front ensuring the local economy is our top priority. Many of you will have been involved in developing to our Economic Development Strategy.
