ALLAN Jenkins returns to Ballymena Showgrounds on Saturday - as special guest at a Celebration Evening in the Des Allen Suite (6pm).
The big Scot, one of the United favourites, will attend the Premiership match with Ards that afternoon, before enjoying the night's entertainment in honour of his service to the Sky Blues.
Jenkins will be accompanied by his father and mother, and his young daughter, Macie.
The former Stranraer midfielder spent six seasons at Ballymena United, playing 254 games in that time.
‘Jenks' gave 100% effort for the United club each match - an item which did not go unnoticed by Supporters Clubs.
On occasions he was named Player of the Year and picked up many Player of the Month awards.
Jenkins, former captain of the Sky Blues, left United at the start of this season; he now plays his football for Scottish side Hurlford United.
Prior to departing these shores he had nothing but praise for Ballymena United.
He thanked everyone at the club for their kindness and decency shown to him during by time here.
“It certainly has been a roller coaster journey. I have met many people along the way, people I count as friends and acquaintances. I was very well treated at United. That is what helped make the club so great for me," he said at the time.
Jenkins more than played his part in helping get United into Europe.
Sadly for him he was not be part of it - on the field anyway; he missed the European trip to Odds BK - but spectated at United's 'home' leg at Seaview.
