TOP local bowler Megan Wilson was on the Ireland bowling team which won GOLD in the European Championships in Jersey, writes Shaun O'Neill.
The Ballymena Ladies President was absolutely delighted with the winning performance at Les Creux Bowling Club.
Along with Catherine Beattie (Ewarts), Andy Kyle (Larne) and Mark Wilson (Cookstown) they turned in a five-star showing to take the top prize.
Ireland claimed the GOLD medal with a collective score of 69 points.
They finished FIVE points ahead of Guernsey, with Scotland finishing in 3rd place on 62 points.
This is only the second time that Ireland have won the Team Championship having won the inaugural Championship in 1997 which took place in Guernsey.
Meanwhile, 16 teams (from all over Europe) of four players each were drawn into two groups of eight teams playing in Ladies' Pairs, Men's Pairs and Mixed Fours disciplines.
