THE grieving wife of Ballymena man, Patrick Faith, who tragically died during a family holiday in Bulgaria, hope to have his body home for burial this weekend.
Julie Faith is receiving vital assistance from the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust to bring home Patrick (56). He died of a massive heart attack last week and his holiday insurance company declined to pay out.
The Trust was set up almost four years ago by the Bell family after their own son died in New York.
Since then, the charity has helped hundreds of families whose loved ones have died away from home.
Julie, from Dunfane Park, said that after her husband's sudden death, his sister contacted the Trust.
She said: "If it hadn't have been for them I don't know what I would have done. There was no hesitation at all and they took over everything."
Julie is understandably overwhelmed by the loss of her husband of 35 years, who although suffered from Parkinson's Disease, had presented no symptoms that would would pose any concern for their trip to Sunny Beach, Bulgaria on August 14.
The couple, who have two sons, Callum and Patrick, visited the Bulgarian resort with their close friends.
Julie had visited a restaurant with her youngest son Callum, aged 18, the night before but her husband had stayed in the hotel as he wasn't feeling well.
Close friend, Leonard Wharry, had also stayed behind and gave Patrick his medication at 10pm.
When Julie and Callum returned she stated that her husband was "definitely alive."
