Joe set for kidney ‘gift’ from mum thumbnailLittle Joe Lamont, with ‘Woody’ from Toy Story! Mum Sarah is due to donate one of her kidneys to him in the next few days.

DEVOTED Ballymena mum, Sarah Lamont, is set to donate one of her kidneys to her much loved son Joe in a lifesaving operation this week - just months after giving him part of her liver.
It marks the latest chapter is the inspirational story of four-year-old Joe, who has had to face so many critical medical challenges in his young life.
The Guardian has closely followed the family's journey since Joe's birth and in the next few days, mum of three, Sarah, will donate her one of her kidneys to him.
Sarah, from Deramore Gardens, was found to be a match for her son Joe who needed both a kidney and liver and late last year plans were put in place for her to be his donor.
She said as soon as she found out she was a match nothing was going to stop her from doing all she could to help him.
The liver transplant was carried out at the end of January and has been a success, despite a worrying few weeks when they thought Joes body was rejecting it.
After months of recovery they are now ready to perform the kidney transplant on August 18 in Birmingham.
Speaking exclusively to the Guardian, Sarah said: "Joe was very ill for a long time after his liver operation.
“He had a huge complication with his heart and if not for the quick thinking of the renal team I would have lost him."
Sarah continued: "He was very weak for a long time. He couldn't walk. He had to be kept in isolation for six months.
