Schools show off winning council poster designs

Thursday, 15 June 2017

YOUNG people from a number of Ballymena schools were treated to a visit to the Mayor's parlour recently for a presentation, having been selected as the finalists for the 'Keep Ballymena Safer, Cleaner and Accessible' Poster Campaign.
The campaign is a partnership project between Mid and East Antrim Council's Environmental Health Department and the Ballymena BID's Safer Cleaner Accessible Sub Group.
Local schools had been invited to design a poster, which will be then be featured on bill boards in Ballymena town centre, to promote awareness among residents and visitors.
The BID rewarded the winning designs with Cameron's vouchers and the children will be able to see their designs up around the town centre over the next few months.
Alison Moore, BID Manager, said: "This project is about promoting keeping Ballymena safer, cleaner and accessible but it is also highlighting the problem of litter and dog fouling.
“We would like to thank those who took part in designing the posters. We were delighted with the number of entries, which were all of a very high standard.
