CHARLOTTE Dixon competes for Ireland in the upcoming Student Riders Nations Cup (SRNC) in Romania.
The Buckna teen is one of three University students chosen from Ireland for the competition.
“ This will be my first SRNC but I'm hoping to follow in my sister Tori's footsteps and bring home some medals," Charlotte told Guardian Sport.
The SRNC runs from this Thursday until Saturday.
Meanwhile, Charlotte is just back from a successful week with her horse, 'V Zermie 51' after competing in the CCI* at Tattersalls International Horse trials, Ratoath, in County Meath.
They led the dressage phase with a PB score of 36.
“We kept our lead throughout the second phase with a clear and accurate Cross Country round - coming in exactly 1 second inside the optimum time," outlined 18-year-old Charlotte.
Going into show jumping on the third and final day there was a notable amount of pressure and unfortunately this pressure combined with a tired horse meant they lowered two rails to drop to 4th position.
“I was still over the moon and was awarded the highest placed non-professional rider and finished 2nd best Irish rider in a class of 69 competitors," a delighted Charlotte told Guardian Sport.
This is Charlotte's first year competing in Senior classes!
“I was amazed to even be competing along side my eventing idols never mind beating them," said Charlotte, who is studying biomedical science at Ulster University in Coleraine.
