The actor was initially invited to attend the school's anniversary celebrations but couldn't make it due to work commitments.
Principal Jacqueline Coulter, explained that although Mr Neeson did not attend Ballymena Nursery School he sent his best wishes.
She said: "We were delighted to receive this in the post and it shows that Liam has not forgotten his Ballymena roots."
To celebrate turning 50, the nursery school is hosting a castle themed party, as it was built on the grounds of the former Ballymena Castle. The event, being funded by the Big Lottery, will take place on Friday, May 12 from 3pm to 7pm and will include face painters, a medieval party and birds of prey.
