DAVID Jeffrey has said the playing surface at the main arena at Ballymena Showgrounds is "diabolicial" - and urges someone, somewhere to do something about it!
The Ballymena United manager praised Mid and East Antrim Council for having such a brilliant complex - but declared: "There is no point having the surroundings and the framework if the pitch is not in good order."
Jeffrey said to be fair at the start of the season the pitch was good, but pointed out it has slowly been deteriorating.
The Showgrounds manager told Guardian Sport that United have made countless efforts to work with Council employees, and have lobbied Councillors - "And yet it seems to make absolutely no difference. What is being said to me by their non-action is they are not interested. Not interested in the club, not interested in the club supporters. And what have we tried to do all year - make this town and community proud of what we are trying to do," said Jeffrey.
The United boss said the "icing on the cake" was that on the night before they played Linfield there are tracks all over the pitch.
Ballymena Raceway had held their annual Easter race meeting at the town track.
