Car ‘paint bomb’ attack not racist
Thursday, 9 March 2017
A POLISH woman has been left in shock after her car was paint-bombed outside her home.
At around 5.30am last Wednesday, March 1, Katarzyna Adamiuk (37) discovered her Volkswagen Golf covered in orange paint at Suffolk Street near the town centre.
Speaking to the Guardian her friend, David Owicz, said: "Katarzyna is very surprised this has happened. Her English is not the best so my partner and I got in contact with the police for her.
“Katarzyna does not feel this was a racist attack."
Ms. Adamiuk has lived in Ballymena for four years and has been at her current address for around two years.
David continued: "Thankfully, she was able to get most of the paint off with a car wash as it was a cold morning and the paint did not stick to the bodywork.
"She uses the car every day for work so this has come as a big inconvenience to her."
Police are appealing for witnesses about the incident to contact them at Ballymena on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 114 01/03/17.
