Compensation for Gallahers employers to soar to 1m

Thursday, 15 December 2016

THE Compensation paid out to former Gallahers workers for hearing loss is set to cost over 1 million.
Hundreds of workers who were not provided with adequate ear protection and suffer from hearing loss and tinnitus are being paid thousands of pounds in compensation.
William McSorley of Millar McCall Wylie Solicitors who is dealing with the majority of these claims said: "Unfortunately a lot of former Gallahers employees suffer from significant hearing problems and ringing in their ears which is a result of not receiving adequate ear protection whilst working in the factory.
“Through these compensation payments the Company have recognised this fact.
“If anyone would like to query whether they may have a claim against Gallahers or any other factory they should get in touch on 028 90200050. Even if the factory has closed down a long time ago they still may be able to claim. We also act for former employees of other factories including Enkalon."
