Exciting young artist of the year competition launched at the Braid thumbnail

The Northern Ireland Young Artist of the Year 2017 Competition, with a mouth watering first prize of 1,000, was launched recently in the Braid Art Centre and Museum in Ballymena.
Mid and& East Antrim Council will be awarding a suitable candidate a community arts commission funded to a value of at least 500, taking the total prize to 1,500.
The competition is sponsored by Vision Express, organised by the Rotary Club of Ballymena and supported by Raceview Mill.
It is open to all artists in Northern Ireland aged 17 to 30 and it is free to enter via Facebook. Competition cairman, Raceview Mill gallery owner, Roy McKeown, said "This is a fantastic opportunity for young artists to not only win a substantial amount, but also to enhance their CV. We hope to help young people to develop their career."
