Thursday, 24 November 2016

EIGHT people became ill after consuming cannabis at a house in Ballymena at the weekend.
The incident underlines the dangers of taking substances without being fully aware of the origin.
The Ballymena local policing team were called to the incident on the Cushendall Road, after the eight victims became ill.
The officers, who were assisted by a neighbourhood patrol, attended the scene, where the individuals had eaten 'special cookies' along with smoking a very large cannabis cigarette.
An ambulance also attended the scene.
Police seized the remaining cannabis cookies, along with the cannabis cigarette.
Two people were arrested for drugs offences and are helping police with their inquiries.
