LIDL have backed the Good Morning Ballymena community organisation to the tune of 5,000, after asking people to vote for the best and most deserving community organisation in the town.
Members of the group were treated to a two course dinner cooked by Chef Ian Orr, and served in St Patricks Church Hall by the Lidl community team.
Debbie Chestnutt from the group was then presented with a cheque for 3,500 and 1,000 in vouchers, and the volunteers were given 'goodie bags' as a thank-you for their support.
Debbie said: "I want to thank Lidl for supportikng their local community.
“We will use the vouchers for raffles that we have at our afternoon tea dances.
“If anyone would like to donate to our worthy charity and service they can contact us on 02825640720."
Debbie added: "We are a local charity that supports our older people of the community with a phone call every morning just to make sure they are OK.
“We also take them out shopping, to hospital visit and doctor or dentist appointments or just call out for a visit.
“If you think that you would like a call and you live on your own, aged over 60 then just give us a call or visit us at 18 Queen Street, Ballymena."
